Thank You for Supporting the GFW Great Food Walk on Good Friday

Relieved no Nor’easters were in the forecast, the morning moisture didn’t dampen walkers’ spirits! 122 walkers from 18 towns participated in this year’s GFW (Great Food Walk on Good Friday), walking 565 miles over Harvard’s scenic, 5-mile loop course raising just over $14,000 for Loaves & Fishes (90%) and Sharing, Inc. (10%).

This great cooperative effort was a success thanks to the steadfast support of our walkers, nearly 60 GFW volunteers, the Girl Scouts for baking their hallmark brownies, the Boy Scouts for the welcome clean-up help, the Harvard Department of Public Works, the Police Department, Donelan’s Market in Littleton for waters, the local newspapers, Fruitlands Museum/Trustees of Reservation, and for hosting us – the Congregational Church!

Contributions are still arriving.

Both Loaves & Fishes, serving clients in Ayer, Devens, Groton, Harvard, Littleton & Shirley, and Sharing, Inc., helping people in the rural South, are appreciative of the continued generosity in our wider community.

Thanks to everyone who supported the GFW.

GFW Co-Chairs
