THANKS TO ALL THE VOLUNTEERS WHO DEDICATED THEIR TIME AT THE POSTAL WORKERS’ FOOD DRIVE!

Over 70 volunteers contributed over 200 hours to pick-up, deliver, receive, sort and stock over 17,000 pounds of food and more is still arriving each day!  We checked in more food than we ever did before – over 12,000 pounds – compared to 7,000 to 9,000 in the past!

Again, thanks for supporting our mission and making this such a successful food drive to help our neighbors in need!

THANK YOU VOLUNTEERS!

April is National Volunteer Appreciation Month at Loaves & Fishes and a time to pause and thank everyone who has volunteered in any capacity for the Pantry!

Our volunteers help with every facet of the operation. There are drivers who pick up donations and deliver them to the Pantry, those who help us off-load our orders, those who date-check donations and stock our shelves and those who glean from area gardens and orchards. There are those who work directly with our clients and those who choose to work behind the scenes supporting us administratively or with facility maintenance projects. Still others share their professional talents to manage our finances, marketing and outreach efforts, human resources needs or serve on our Board of Directors.

Through the collective efforts of our volunteers, Loaves & Fishes was able to provide nutritious food last year to over 800 families in Ayer, Devens, Groton, Harvard, Littleton and Shirley. Perhaps most importantly, their willingness to give the gift of their time has impacted many families in our community and given them hope!

To each and every one of our volunteers, my sincere thanks.  I am honored to work side-by-side with such caring and giving individuals.
