Dear Friends,
It has been a long, emotional yet gratifying couple of days here at Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry – we provided all of the fixings for a Thanksgiving meal to over 1000 individuals!!! A new record in our 42-year history!
Over the past few months we have witnessed incredible need as the number of our neighbors seeking assistance skyrocketed. We have supported federal employees navigating pay disruptions, families struggling after the loss of SNAP benefits, individuals facing significant medical issues, seniors living on a fixed income, and countless others caught in the gaps of our social safety net. Their stories have been heartbreaking!
Equally impactful is the outpouring of support we have received – it has been heartwarming! We are indebted to all the volunteers, businesses, organizations, schools, houses of worship, and individuals who have supported us during this trying time. Your generosity has sustained the Pantry during a very difficult time and provided a glimmer of hope to so many of our neighbors.
An elderly gentleman who visited us today said, “I wish I could hug everyone and personally thank them for being here for me – I don’t know what I’d do without Loaves & Fishes.”
