Aanya, a fourth-grade student at Page Hilltop Elementary School in Ayer, shared her thoughts on “kindness:”
I pledge to myself on this very day
I will be kind in every little way
To every person I meet, big and small
I will stand up for them if they fall
Being kind is what I do, hope you
DO IT TOO!
Aanya and the entire Page Hilltop community celebrated “kindness” at a recent assembly. They read student-created poetry, sang, danced, and collected over 1,200 food items to donate to local pantries. It was a truly moving program and the students and staff are to be commended.
At Loaves & Fishes, we witness kindness every day. Generous donors contribute both financially and with the gift of food and personal care items. Volunteers give the gift of their time. Board members provide guidance and oversight, and our Staff Team leads with skill and dedication. We are truly fortunate to be part of such a caring and kind community. Together we have been able to continue to provide nutritious food to our neighbors in need.
The need continues…the winter months are long and many of our neighbors are struggling. Our hope is that our community takes Aanya’s lead and continues to support the Pantry in whatever way they can.
