Troubles with our truck almost prevented our friends at Medway Village Food Pantry from being able to get their delivery from the Greater Boston Food Bank. They were beyond thankful for the help provided by our driver, Karl, and our Executive Director, Patty, and shared their gratitude on their Facebook page –
“This week, we were facing a major challenge. Our usual delivery from the Greater Boston Food Bank was at risk. Our friends at Loaves & Fishes Pantry in Devens, MA had a truck out of commission, and because we never get a delivery the first Wednesday of the month, we were looking at three weeks without food coming in. That would’ve been devastating for our clients. But then came SuperKarl.
Karl, who regularly drives into Boston on Wednesdays to pick up and deliver food orders for us, wasn’t about to let our shelves go bare. With help from Patty at Loaves and Fishes, he rented a truck so he could make not only our delivery happen, but also ensure the Medway Food Pantry at Mahan Circle got theirs too.
This was way beyond his regular duties, and it speaks volumes about his heart, his dedication, and his understanding of just how important this food is to the people we serve.
Karl, thank you. You made a tough week so much brighter.”
